It’s another week of the Mountain West Recruiting Roundup.
Teams continue to focus on their own team as spring ball takes place for most programs right now. Although that will probably change now that we are in the contact period. Either way, offers are still occurring, with twenty new ones this week. Hawaii led the way with four and nine total teams handed out new offers this past week.
On the commitment front, Air Force and Fresno State both had new commitments. The Falcons actually had two. They take their second straight week on the cover photo.
Class of 2025 Cover Photo Total:
- Air Force: 2
- Boise State: 2
- San Diego State: 1
- San Jose State: 1
- Utah State: 1
Recruiting Notes:
Brad Odom, the Director of Player Personnel for UNLV, has been tweeting our recruiting notes every Tuesday for at least since last season. It’s a lot of good advice for recruits, so we may as well feature last week’s tweet every week.

1. I might be busy tomorrow so I thought I would jot down some notes today.
2. I’ve seen recruiting from all facets; as a player, as a HS coach, as a parent and now finally as a recruiter. No one has the same recruitment. They are all… pic.twitter.com/YsHll4MGy9
Recruiting Calendar:
Starting today, and through May 25th, we are in a contact period. This is also known at the Spring Recruiting Period. Coaches can spend time going out to schools to evaluate players athletically and academically. As seen above, they can only go to a school once, and speak with coaches and guidance counselors. Expect a lot of offers to be handed out during this time.

Next College Student Athlete defines it as:
The NCAA Contact Period is exactly what it sounds like—all communication between athletes and coaches is fair game. Coaches can email, text, call, direct message and generally contact athletes and their parents through any NCAA-approved method. In-person contact can occur on the college campus, as well as at tournaments, at the recruit’s school and home. In other words, the communication floodgates are open, so take advantage of this opportunity to get unlimited access to talk to coaches.
Air Force Commitment Tracker:
Since the Air Force Academy regularly has by far the most commits among Mountain West recruiting classes, it’s fun to track them over the course of the year.
Number of Falcon verbal commits: 6
Visit Recap:
QB Carter Jones (Colorado State)
“My parents and I had a great time in Fort Collins, the coaching staff and players showed me a lot of love, I can definitely see myself potentially going there. The accomplishments that Coach Norvell has accomplished, the way he runs his program, and how the offensive coordinator Coach Mumme has been great with QBs and their passing stats with them being #1 in passing multiple times, all of that sticks out to me.”
Commitment Spotlight:
LB Mekhi Campbell (Air Force)
“The main reason I committed is because I feel that everything about the Academy is great fit for my personality. The guys on the team and on the coaching staff seem to share the same values and work ethic as me and I find it really easy to talk to them. They are all really straightforward and upstanding people. The players there seemed smart, disciplined, hardworking and have a lot of heart. I think that is what the linebacker coach saw in me as well.”
DB Major Quin (Air Force)
“My parents and I visited USAFA a couple of weeks ago with several other recruits. I spoke with Coach Campbell for hours about my position, his plans for me in the offense, and life at the academy. Coach Horton is my area recruiter. He coached special teams at Auburn with my head coach, Doug Goodwin. He wants to use me in the return game. The academics and people are incredible. After praying and discussing things with my parents, committing to Air Force was a no- brainer.”
