It’s another week of the Mountain West Recruiting Roundup.
Recruiting is heating up in the conference. Every week there are new offers, visitors, and commitments occurring. This week was no exception.
This week, there was a number of new offers given out by various teams. UNLV and San Jose State hosted some visitors. And there were seven new commits spread out over five different teams. On the other side of things, Boise State lost a member of its 2024 class.
Looking at the teams who gained a new verbal pledge, Air Force, Boise State Colorado State, San Jose State, and UNLV all added to their classes. However, it was the Falcons who got multiple commits, adding to their huge total. They take another turn on the cover photo this week.

Recruiting Calendar:
From September 1st until the last week of November, we are in an evaluation period. During this time, official visits can happen on campus and coaches can watch recruits play in person during their high school seasons.
Next College Student Athlete defines it as:
The NCAA Contact Period is exactly what it sounds like—all communication between athletes and coaches is fair game. Coaches can email, text, call, direct message and generally contact athletes and their parents through any NCAA-approved method. In-person contact can occur on the college campus, as well as at tournaments, at the recruit’s school and home. In other words, the communication floodgates are open, so take advantage of this opportunity to get unlimited access to talk to coaches.

Since the Air Force Academy regularly has by far the most commits among Mountain West recruiting classes, it’s fun to track them over the course of the year.

“There are many reasons that I chose Air Force. One of the main reasons was the coaching Staff. Coach Campbell , Coach Thiessen and Coach Calhoun were instrumental in my recruiting process. I talk with the coaches weekly. I am very excited about team and the plans they have for me on the offense. I have been out to Colorado Springs twice now and I love the area and I feel at home there. Being from California I wanted to make sure that I was close enough that my family could make most of the games. I have a lot of family that have served in the military so I view the Academy and my future in the Air Force as an exciting opportunity.”

“Air Force is awesome, and it was time to commit. It checks all the boxes; great football team, great coaches, great location, amazing perks, super cool opportunity post-college, and most importantly, my mom approves. I really love the coaching staff at the academy. Coach Stubbs and Lobo are the coaches I talk to the most, one being my area recruiter and one being the o line coach. Both are super cool dudes that not only care about football but also the things I do outside of football. I’m grateful for the chance they took on me and they won’t regret it. Something I have worked a lot of in the offseason is bettering myself. This game is so complicated and there’s a lot of little things that make good players great. I have to outperform the kids who are blessed with height. So, that’s what I’ll do.”

“I chose SDSU because of their production of TEs in the past. I loved the facilities and the coaching staff when I was on my visit. The coaches gave me and my family a lot of time to get to know them, and that was a big reason why I chose SDSU. It’s not too far from home, which means my family can come and watch me play. Also, I couldn’t ask for better weather.”
