OurT8 LED tube is designed to directly replace 4-ft T8 fluorescent lamps, andcan be directly installed into an existing 4-ft fluorescent fixture without having to open the fixture housing and rewiring the connections.

The best way to determine if these lamps will fit and operate in your current fixture is to confirm the specifications of the fluorescent lamp that is currently installed in your fixture. Below are the basic requirements for compatibility:

  • 4-ft (48") in length
  • T8 style tube (1" tube diameter)

Youcan also look for a model number or designator on the fluorescent tube. The most common designation is F32T8, which is a compatible fluorescent tube specification.

For most customers, we recommend this approach for ease of installation. For further information and instructions on rewiring for ballast bypass, please refer to our install guide / user manual.

Please contact us with any further or specific questions about compatibility.

Amazing difference in a dental clinic

I purchased these so I could have better lighting for shade matching materials to teeth. I was hesitant because I normally like warmer lighting and I was worried about these being too blue. I installed a few and was shocked at the difference. My white cabinets under these lights looked much brighter; almost as if they had been renewed. The colors of everything in the clinic popped like never before, and the lighting now makes you feel as if an amazing amount of light is coming through the windows. Most importantly though is that shade matching is so much easier and accurate. I waited to see how I liked the first bunch, and now I’m going to outfit the whole clinic with these. Obviously I highly recommend these.

Excellent lights

I used eight of these T8 tubes to replace the LED tubes in my office. The cheap LED tubes that my employer installed had a massive amount of 120 Hz flicker and very poor CRI. These obviously have much better CRI and have no 120 Hz flicker. Easy upgrade!

Excellent option for a dental office

These highly color accurate LED tubes made it extremely easy to upgrade from fluorescent tubes without any re-wiring, and all the while maintaining the high standards for illumination required in all dental offices.

FAQs

What is a D50 light? ›

D50 is a theoretical light source that approximates "warm daylight" and follows the CIE standard. It is defined by a theoretical light spectrum as shown below. The resulting xy chromaticity coordinates of this spectrum are (0.34567, 0.35850). The color temperature of this chromaticity point is 5003K.

What is the price of D50 light? ›

18W D50 Tubelight, 2 Feet at Rs 1500/piece in Mumbai | ID: 2850530780488.

What color are T8 LED tubes? ›

T8 18W 120cmcolorful LED tube, available in blue, red, green, yellow and pink. The T8 LED tube replaces the old fluorescent tubes. It has a high insulation and high resistance reinforced cap, with encapsulated driver and high performance SMD 2835 chips.

What is the difference between LED tube and fluorescent tube? ›

LED tubes remain relatively cool, so the maximum amount of light can be produced, while there is little to no wasteful heat produced. Due to the short lifespan of tubular fluorescent lighting, significant maintenance is required. In addition, fluorescent tubes require a ballast for normal operation.

What does the D stand for in LED lights? ›

What are LEDs and how do they work? LED stands for light emitting diode. LED lighting products produce light up to 90% more efficiently than incandescent light bulbs.

What is the difference between 5000K and 6500K? ›

First and foremost, the difference between 5000K and 6500K can be thought of as the relative amounts of "yellow" vs "blue." On a relative basis, 5000K is yellower than 6500K, and 6500K is bluer than 5000K.

What color is 5000K? ›

5000K = NATURAL WHITE

As seen on the graph, 5000 kelvin is a nice white but has a slight tint of yellow. People who choose this color are usually trying to get a more natural white light that appears less harsh to the eye.

What is the difference between D50 and D65 light? ›

Both are types of illuminants constructed to represent natural daylight. The primary difference between the two is the color temperature of the light they are meant to represent.

What is D50 white point? ›

In basic terms, white point determines the color of the white on your computer's display. Selecting a warm color temperature such as D50 will create a warm-colored white. A higher temperate setting such as D65 will create a white that is slightly cooler.

What is better LED or T8? ›

The study compared the costs of six replacement options — one fluorescent and five LED — for linear recessed lighting systems and found that LED products were 18%-44% more efficient than T8 fluorescent lamps.

How long do T8 LED tubes last? ›

LED tubes last an average 50,000 hours, twice that of fluorescent tubes. Used for 12 hours a day, an LED tube with a 50,000 hour rated life will last over 11-years.

What does T8 mean on a tube light? ›

What Are T8 Bulbs? T8 bulbs are a more popular form of LED tube used across various industries and buildings. The “T” refers to its tube-shaped characteristic, and the “8” refers to its diameter in eighths of an inch. In short, a T8 bulb is an LED tube lamp that measures one inch across.

Can you just replace fluorescent tubes with LED tubes? ›

In general, you can replace fluorescent tubes with LEDs anywhere, as long as you pay attention to the right replacement. Because from the external appearance, the two light sources are very similar. You can find mechanically suitable LED tube for all types of fluorescent tubes.

What are disadvantages of LED tube light? ›

Perhaps the biggest drawback of LED light bulbs is that they emit more blue light than incandescent bulbs, which are more on the red end of the spectrum. Blue light can cause a disruption in your circadian rhythm, negatively affect your ability to fall asleep and the quality of your sleep.

Can I put LED tubes replace fluorescent tubes? ›

Yes. There are a number of options. The least reliable and energy efficient but simplest are LED tubes with electronics that directly replace the tubes and work off the old fluorescent ballast output.

What is the temperature of D50 light? ›

D50 is scientific shorthand for a standard illuminant: the daylight spectrum at a correlated color temperature of 5000 K.

Is D50 or D65 better for photography? ›

For one, the white point of most photographic paper is very blue when viewed under a D50 illuminant. On most displays it is harder to achieve high luminance levels at D50. It is for these reasons that, when working with photographic paper, calibrating to D65 may produce a better screen-to-print match.
